Purpose & history

We were founded as a non-profit friends’ association in 1989.

Fasching is unique in that it is owned by its audience, through us in the Association of Faschings Friends with over 4000 members, and by the jazz musicians themselves through the Association of Swedish Jazz Musicians (FSJ).

We are both represented on Fasching’s board.

Every year, Faschings Vänner awards a scholarship to promising jazz musicians in connection with the association’s annual meeting. Read more about the Faschings Vänner scholarship.
