About the concert
Jasper Høiby is the bassist and bandleader who redefined expectations of the modern piano trio through Phronesis — the group he co-founded in 2005 with Ivo Neame and Anton Eger. With 3Elements, he continues in the same spirit: structured, risk-taking, collectively driven.
Conversations of Hope is the trio's third album on Edition Records. The music moves fast and hits hard — clear melodic ideas, shifting time signatures and a constant awareness of space. Pianist Xavi Torres' harmonic language and drummer Naíma Acuña's precise drive lock tightly with Høiby's bass-led writing. MOJO captured his approach well: "everything belongs, nothing is forced."
